Inventory Management Specialist

Fort Garry Industries has an opening for an Inventory Management Specialist. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this position is responsible for processing purchase orders to assure supply for Store operations. This includes timely review and updating of data, analyzing comparable products, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with vendors.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Build orders to minimize stock outs, freight and obsolescence
  • Follow up on orders and expedite as required
  • Source and order substitutions as needed
  • Resolve order discrepancies
  • Data Analysis and Management
  • Obsolete and Over-stock Management

Candidate requirements:

  • 3+ years of Inventory Management or Procurement role
  • Thorough understanding of forecasting and demand planning principles
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (Infor M3 an asset)
  • Strong computer skills working with MS Office, in particular MS Excel
  • Heavy Duty or Automotive Parts experience an asset
